De WHOQoL-BREF is de verkorte versie van de WHOQoL-100. De WHOQoL-BREF meet de kwaliteit van leven. Het meetinstrument bestaat uit 26 items, waarvan 24 items onderverdeeld zijn in vier domeinen en er twee items over de algemene kwaliteit van leven zijn opgenomen. Een hoge domeinscore komt overeen met een betere kwaliteit van leven.
