Neutral-0 Method

Abstract

The Neutrale-0-Methode (NNM), or Neutral-0 Method, is a standardized and systematic procedure used primarily in physical therapy and orthopedics to accurately quantify the angular excursion, or range of motion, of a specific joint. This technique relies on the use of a goniometer and defines the neutral or anatomical standard position as the 0-position. Movement is recorded using a sequence of three numerical values, expressed in degrees: the two extreme end positions and the standardized 0-position.
